THE LPM MACHINE WITH CRUCIBLE FURNACE
In this machine, the 4+4 column vertical press houses in its lower part an steel welded structure enclosing an electric crucible-type holding furnace with proportional pressurization control. Working temperature is obtained by means of a series of heating elements that are fixed on 6 removable plates that embrace the outer structure of the crucible. This system allows the furnace to maintain the working temperature also when only 5 elements are working, thus bringing the onstream production to its end, and avoiding the necessity to slide out the crucible when a faulty element requires replacement.
The furnace is mounted on a trolley allowing it to slide out frontally for easy maintenance and crucible replacement. A hoisting system driven by an hydraulic motor operates two screw jacks guided by four columns that allow lifting the furnace (up to 250 mm) to move it into its working position.
